INDICATIONS

AVISTREP, injectable suspension, is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by micro-organisms sensitive to penicillin and/or streptomycin, such as: Staphylococcus spp, Streptococcus spp, Pasteurella multocida, Pasteurella haemolytica, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Klebsiella pneumonia, Listeria spp and Salmonella spp. AVISTREP is effective in the treatment of local and systemic diseases caused by sensitive organisms, in particular: pneumonia, listeriosis, meningitis; septicaemia; enteritis caused by salmonellosis and in the control of secondary bacterial infections. The combination of penicillin and dihydrostreptomycin is particularly effective in the treatment of mixed infections involving both Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms
